Berkeley Arts Magnet
Berkeley, CA
As an arts magnet school, Berkeley Arts Magnet has a lot of unique resources. Mentors have the flexibility to mentor one-on-one or to work with an entire class. BAM utilizes an 'independent pairing process' in which mentors form relationships with mentees rather than being assigned by their school director. No art experience is necessary for mentors!

Emerson Elementary
Berkeley, CA
Emerson is one of the best options for mentors who want to stay near campus. Mentors work primarily with an entire grade, but there is potential to develop one-on-one relationships and weekly interactions. Emerson is a great place where mentors can work with a diverse group of students who adore Sage mentors!

Ruth Acty Elementary
Berkeley, CA
Ruth Acty's staff and faculty are really excited for mentors to either work with an entire class - and become part of their classroom routine - or mentor one-on-one. Jefferson also boasts a Disabled Students Program (DSP) and an afterschool program for mentors to participate in and assist with during mentoring sessions.

John Muir Elementary
Berkeley, CA
John Muir Elementary is an extremely tight-knit community with students of incredibly diverse backgrounds and interests. There are several after-school sports programs in soccer, basketball, and flag football. Additionally, mentors can join their mentees at cooking, art, and 'mad science' classes. John Muir's staff and faculty are thrilled to meet new mentors and reconcile with returning mentors and watch the one-on-one mentor/mentee relationships grow!

Sylvia Mendez Elementary

Sylvia Mendez (formerly, Le Conte), is known for its small, active community of learning with immense cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic diversity. Mentors can get involved with sports coaching, Two-Way Spanish Immersion Program, and Farm & Garden Program that unique to Sylvia Mendez. There are also after-school programs in drama, circus skills, chess, and more!

Oxford Elementary

Oxford Elementary is one of Sage's smaller schools that offers mentors the chance to work one-on-one with students. Oxford's staff and faculty appreciate and values mentors that focus on fostering a positive relationship through after-school programs including dance, basketball, science projects, arts & crafts, and more! Oxford is a beautiful place where students can explore their interests in a safe, nurturing environment.

Rosa Parks Elementary

Rosa Parks Elementary is an Environmental Science Magnet School. The school emphasizes on sustainable agricultural practices and offers several programs and opportunities related to sustainability. While mentors are not required to have a science background, those interested in the environment would be passionate about Rosa Park's programs such as their science lab. Rosa Parks is a very welcoming community, and the students and staff are excited to have Sage Mentors.

Washington Elementary

Washington Elementary is super close to campus (on Channing Way and MLK). Washington Elementary offers a number of super fun after school and class programs such as dance and cooking that mentors can participate in with their mentee. The staff and students are very socially-aware and passionate about social justice. They even host an annual Diversity Night on their campus.

Acorn Woodland Elementary is a beautiful school located in an underserved neighborhood in Oakland, CA. A great portion of students at Acorn Woodland are economically disadvantaged, English learners, or differently abled. Students need and love having mentors here!
